In Chinese tradition, the wedding day is called the groom’s day. This means that the groom and his family will bear all the wedding expenses. The wedding process begins with writing and sending three letters. The first letter is sent by the groom’s family to the bride’s family to confirm the wedding arrangements. The second letter describes the gifts for the bride from the groom and their cost. And the bride receives the last letter on the wedding day. A very important role in the Chinese wedding is played by red: everything from the envelopes of letters and ending with the bride’s dress, red.
